From first call to finished bid
A simple process, with fixed prices.
How It Works
- Request a Kick-Off Call using the request form.
- We talk through your project and what you already have in place.
- I go away and research funders that could suit your project.
- I send you a proposal with the fund I think you could access, a plan for applying and a fixed price.
- If you want to go ahead, I send an invoice for the 25% deposit.
- I write the bid for you and you review it before it is submitted. The remaining 75% is due on submission.
What you will need
Funders ask for the same basics whatever your type of organisation. Before we start, it helps if you have:
- Your governing document: a constitution, articles, trust deed, or for a council the authority to apply
- A bank account in the name of the organisation, not a personal account
- Your latest accounts, or a simple record of income and spending
- A rough idea of your project and costs
Request your Kick-Off Call
An hour to talk through your project and plan the way ahead. Fill in the short form to request a call and I will be in touch to arrange it.
FAQs
Do you guarantee we will get funding?
No. Nobody can, and I would be wary of anyone who says they can. The funder makes the decision. What I do is make your application as strong as possible: I match you to funders that fit your project, build a clear case for the need and the impact, and make sure the bid answers what the funder is asking for.
How and when do I pay?
I send an invoice for the Kick-Off Call, and payment is due before the call. My proposal includes a fixed price, so you know the full cost before you decide. If you want to go ahead, I send an invoice for the 25% deposit, and the remaining 75% is due when the bid is submitted. You pay every invoice by bank transfer.
Do you take a percentage of the grant?
No. You pay a fixed fee agreed up front and set out in my proposal. I do not take a cut of any grant you win, so the money you are awarded goes to your project.
Who do you work with?
My background is grassroots sport, and that is still where I am strongest. I help any organisation that gets people active, including sports clubs and leagues, town and parish councils, schools, colleges and universities, charities and community groups, and other eligible organisations such as unincorporated groups. If your project is for sport, leisure or physical activity, I can help you find and win the funding for it.
Can an unincorporated group apply?
Often, yes, but it depends on the funder. Some funders only accept certain legal forms, and others ask for a bank account and governing document in the group’s name. We cover this in the Kick-Off Call, and I will tell you which funders are open to you as you are.
What if we are not ready to apply?
The Kick-Off Call is the place to start. I will tell you plainly what to sort out first, such as your governing document, bank account or accounts, and what else will put you in a strong position when you do apply.
Do you invoice organisations such as councils and schools?
Yes. I send an invoice and accept purchase orders, so it works with the way councils and schools usually pay for services. Payment is by bank transfer on receipt of invoice.
